For a possible quiz be prepared to answer either questions 2, 3 or 5.  InstructorÕs choice.  There will be no more than one quiz on the play.  Please be prepared to write for any of the days that we are discussing the play. 

 

1.  What happens in the play?  Who is Aristorius?  Why does he sell the host?  Why do the Jews want to buy it?  What do they do it? 

 

2.  Conversion: How do the conversion in this play compare to other conversions we have seen, such as those by Feirefiz?  Be specific in your points of comparison.

 

3.  How would you compare this play to the PrioressÕs Tale?  How do the miracles compare?  The portrayal of the Jews?

 

4.  Why do you think this play was written?  What does it try to teach?

 

5.  Portrayal of Christian and Jews.  How do the portrayals of Christians and Jews compare in this play?  What are the differences and similarities between them?
