Peredur
Thinksheet question: Pretend that you are a scholar working in an archive and that you discover the first known copy of the Peredur manuscript (pretend also that you have knowledge of medieval Welsh). What kind of text do you think this is? What is its style? The manuscript you find is from the fourteenth century, that is, it was copied later than the French and German versions of the Perceval story that we have read. This doesn't mean, though, that the text itself was composed later. Do you think you've found a new version of Chretien's story translated into Welsh or have you found a previously unknown source for the Perceval myth. Explain your reasoning.
