Beloved Study questions

For a quiz please be prepared to answer either question 4 or question 6

  1. What does the tobacco tin in Paul D.’s chest represent?
  2. Is Beloved a ghost?  How does the novel play with the tension between the natural and the supernatural?
  3. What is “rememory” in Beloved?  Focusing on a specific character or event in the novel explain how rememory can be understood in relation to memory and/or to Hirsch’s concept of “post-memory.”
